Planned SAP Integration for Inbound Shipments
SAP is the backbone of enterprise operations for thousands of organizations worldwide. Our roadmap includes a direct integration that will connect purchase orders, goods receipts, material masters, and shipment milestones between InboundShipments and SAP ERP or S/4HANA.
Planned Integration Capabilities
These features are on our roadmap for the SAP integration. CSV import and export is available today as a bridge.
Planned Purchase Order Sync
The upcoming integration is designed to pull purchase orders from SAP MM (Materials Management) into InboundShipments, so your logistics team can begin tracking shipments as soon as a PO is released.
Upcoming Goods Receipt Integration
When items are received and inspected in InboundShipments, a planned feature will post goods receipt documents (MIGO) back to SAP, keeping your inventory and warehouse records current.
Material Master Mapping
We are designing a sync between SAP material master records and the InboundShipments item catalog, so part numbers, descriptions, and HTS codes stay consistent across both systems.
Planned Cost Allocation
Freight, duty, and insurance costs captured in InboundShipments are planned to map to SAP cost elements, supporting accurate landed cost calculations in SAP Controlling.
Shipment Milestone Visibility
Real-time tracking data from InboundShipments, including vessel movements, customs clearance, and delivery milestones, is designed to be surfaced in SAP through custom fields or integration messages.
Inbound Delivery Creation
The roadmap includes automatic creation of inbound deliveries in SAP when shipments reach key milestones, giving your warehouse team advance notice of arriving goods.
Why Connecting InboundShipments and SAP Matters
SAP manages your enterprise data. InboundShipments manages the inbound journey. Connecting them will eliminate blind spots in your supply chain.
Bridge the gap between procurement and receiving in SAP
SAP excels at managing the procurement cycle from requisition through payment. However, the period between PO confirmation and goods receipt, when goods are in transit on ocean vessels, is often a blind spot. InboundShipments is built specifically for this phase, and a planned integration will connect it directly to your SAP workflow.
Real-time container tracking that SAP does not offer natively
SAP does not include built-in ocean container tracking or carrier milestone feeds. InboundShipments provides real-time tracking through carrier API integrations, covering vessel movements, port arrivals, customs holds, and last-mile delivery. The planned integration brings this visibility into your SAP environment.
Reduce manual effort for your SAP logistics team
Teams running SAP for inbound logistics often maintain parallel spreadsheets for shipment tracking because SAP transaction codes were not designed for day-to-day shipment monitoring. InboundShipments replaces those spreadsheets today. The upcoming integration will close the loop by keeping SAP data in sync automatically.
Support complex global supply chains
Organizations using SAP often manage high volumes of international shipments with multiple suppliers, ports, and customs requirements. InboundShipments handles multi-currency invoices, incoterms, customs documents, and HTS codes. Connecting these capabilities with SAP master data will simplify global inbound operations.
Start standalone, connect to SAP when the integration is ready
InboundShipments works independently with CSV import and export as a bridge to SAP. Your team can begin tracking shipments immediately while the direct integration is being developed. No SAP customization is needed to start getting value.
